A STUDENT RUN ASYLUM CLINIC…
The LA Human Rights Initiative is a student-run, faculty-supervised organization at UCLA. LAHRI runs an Asylum Clinic that provides pro bono forensic evaluations to asylum seekers and other immigrants and creates opportunities for experiential learning and professional development for medical students and residents.
LAHRI works in partnership with Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) by matching asylum cases with clinic-affiliated clinicians.

Our Research
Get Involved
Our clinic is a student run clinic and we rely on volunteer clinicians to take cases and perform evaluation. Our medical students run the entire operation of the clinic from training, to scheduling evaluations, to research and advocacy. We are affiliate with the international organization, Physicians for Human Rights.
